Scents of Home Candle Range by Acorn Inspired by Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark Now Available at Newcastle Visitor Information Centre

Newcastle Visitor Information Centre is delighted to announce the availability of the exclusive Scents of Home candles by Acorn created by Bolster Community, a local charity who are approaching 20 years supporting the community this year. To mark the anniversary, their Social Enterprise ‘Acorn’ has launched something extra special, a new range of Acorn candles affectionately called ‘Scents of Home’ inspired by Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark.

These candles, carefully crafted to capture the essence of the region, are now available for purchase, offering both locals and visitors a unique way to bring the natural beauty of the Geopark into their homes. The Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark, known for its geological significance and natural beauty, has been a source of inspiration for the creation of these candles. The Geopark, which spans three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is celebrated for its rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and unique geological formations.

Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Cllr Pete Byrne stated that “Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are delighted to introduce the Scents of Home Acorn candle range to our Newcastle Visitor Information Centre. These candles are more than just a product; they are a celebration of the natural wonders that the Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark has to offer. Each scent is a tribute to the landscapes that define our region, and we believe they will serve as a beautiful reminder of the experiences and memories made here. We invite everyone to visit the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre to discover this unique collection and take a piece of our Geopark home with them.”

Jacinta Linden, CEO and founder of Bolster Community is extremely proud of the latest Acorn ‘Scents of Home’ range and is delighted the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre will stock the range… she says, “Since starting the Acorn range over 9 years ago, we’ve been on a huge learning curve, but we have worked hard to create the beautiful range we are so proud of today. It is a true social enterprise in the sense that the proceeds not only help to support our work here at Bolster Community, but it also provides an outlet for our young adults of mixed ability to acquire new skills and experience meaningful opportunities. We depend on supportive stockists like the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre to help us get our range out there – and for visitors to upcoming events like the AMGEN Irish Open in September 24, we can think of no better souvenir to take home… who knows where in the world our Acorn candles might end up!”

The Scents of Homes Acorn candle range is now available at the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre. Whether you are looking for a special gift or a personal memento, these candles offer a perfect way to celebrate and preserve the essence of the Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark.
