SureStart aims to deliver the best start in life for every child by bringing together early education, health and family support.
Sure Start is the Government’s programme to deliver the best start in life for every child by bringing together early education, childcare, health and family support. It is targeted at specific areas that are identified by the Department of Education. Sure Start has been in Kilkeel since March 2011, providing services to children aged 0-4 years and their families. Mourne Sure Start aims to work with parents to promote the physical, intellectual and social development of babies and young children so that they can flourish at home and when they get to school. The multi-disciplinary team consists of a wide range of professionals including a Family Support Worker, Health Visitor, Midwife, Speech and Language Therapist and Health Promotion Worker.
