Joining the Dots @ Bolster Community

Bolster Community bring local agencies back together

Bolster Community facilitated a Joining the Dots Agency Event on Thursday 12th May in the Canal Court, Newry.  Over 40 agencies who offer services to families and young adults within the Newry and Mourne area attended, sharing details of services in a quick- fire information session, followed by a networking session where attendees explored opportunities for working together to improve services for the families and young adults from across the area.

Allison Slater, Operations Manager told us “Bolster Community’s aim for this event was to help agencies come together share information and hopefully explore new ways to work together to deliver improved supports for families and young people across Newry and Mourne.  We were conscious that since the COVID-19 pandemic workers haven’t had the time to liaise and meet others so we felt that bringing everyone together in a fast-paced information session would allow them to gather a raft of information without having to lose too much of their working week.  We were delighted with the turnout and the atmosphere in the room was electric with many people meeting each other after a huge break.  We were able to host this event thanks to our continued funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, who have been a flexible and supportive funder over the past seven years.  I’d also like to thank Louise and Paul from the Canal Court for their hospitality on the day”.

One of the guests on the day said, “This was so successful, I so appreciated the opportunity to attend and catch up on service changes across the area.  Thank you for bringing normality back”.
