Hey there! I’m Gary. A local Newry man myself, I’m proud of where I’m born and bred. Newry is my favourite place in the whole world and that’s one of the reasons why I love being a candle-maker for Bolster Community. It’s in the title. Bolster Community and our candles make (metaphorical) waves in OUR community! And if it’s one thing I want to keep doing, it’s making a positive impact on the local area where I’m from.
I’m a musician in my head and heart, a candle maker by day. I love playing guitar and singing and being on stage. Theatre is where the fun is at, and I love being where the fun is. My greatest dream is to star in the theatre.
Coming to Bolster means I get to meet cool people who want to make a difference in the local area, but it also means I get to connect and share my interests with other people. I’m always making tea and coffee for the group because it makes me happy to see them happy.
If there’s one thing I wish I could change it’s having more places like Bolster Community. To us, it’s not just a candle you’re buying. To us, you’re apart of what we want to see more of in this world. And that’s just being happy and having good, kind people around.
